These cabinet-sized monuments were crafted for elite European and American travelers during the late 19th and early 20th centuries as tangible tributes to classical antiquity and architectural mastery. At the center of the open colonnade stands a finely cast patinated bronze reduction of the legendary Diane de Gabies (Diana of Gabii). The goddess is depicted in her characteristic, graceful pose, elegantly fastening her cloak with a fibula. The rotunda features precisely fluted columns with ornate Corinthian capitals supporting a sweeping slate dome crowned with a cast bronze finial.
